It has been, since its conception, one of the greatest projects of our winery and in 2020 it has established itself as a winner, with a Gold medal in Mundus Vini and Silver medal in Decanter and Vinduero Vindouro. Pincerna Sumiller expresses like few others the potential of the prieto picudo variety, with a touch of elegance given by the old vines. Pincerna Sumiller increases its fanbase every day.
Coming from our vineyards in the area of Gondoncillo, where we have one of the largest plantations of this very scarce grape (about 80 Ha. total worldwide production). This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures, to allow for the maximum expression of the aromas. Prior to bottling, the wine remains in contact with its lees for two months.
Albarín is a grape variety that we understand well in Pincerna, and we are sure it will be one of Spain’s next rising stars.
Young and well balanced, this single varietal red wine comes from 20 to 30 year old vines. Our fermentation protocols allow us to get silkiness where we had harshness, and all the fruit and volume characteristic of our star, the prieto picudo grape.
With an attractive fucsia color, our rose is different because upon arrival at the winery, we pour our prieto picudo bunches on top of the skins of our albarin. What we obtain is a must composed of prieto picudo with an extra 10% of albarín, and its maceration gives complexity and volume to the wine. Our rosé is well balanced and fresh, and always invites you to drink a second glass.
